Bondgate Homes has successfully completed the sale of all five properties at its first ever development. The newbuild houses were sold all off plan within less than 12 months of coming to the market, giving a good indication of the current strength of the housing market in the area.

Construction at the Carter Dene development in the picturesque village of Lesbury, near Alnwick, began in 2019, with the first properties completed in September. October saw the first of the new owners move in.

Rachel Trew, Project Manager for the Bondgate Homes development said, “Carter Dene is the first residential development for us so we are delighted that the project has proved so popular. Amble based contractors D P Builders did a fantastic job and as the buyers take up residence the whole development is coming to life.”

Rachel Trew continues: “All indications are that the housing market in North Northumberland where our first developments are taking place is currently very strong, with buyers seemingly attracted by the rural lifestyle, wide open spaces and coastline and the dramatic scenery. While it is fantastic for the local economy to see this happening, as a business we are also aware that many house sales in the area are to second homeowners with strong demand and the resulting high values pricing locals out of the market. This is something we will be looking to address when our next house building project begins later in the year.”
